ABOUT THE CURRICULUM:

  • The Children's Choir is committed to fostering excellent musciciaship and knowledgeable participation in liturgy.
  •  As they progress in musicianship and liturgical knowledge, they will be assigned roles of responsibility. Some will serve as cantors at liturgy, some will have solos, some may use instruments, or help organize & lead...

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE CHILDREN'S CHOIR IS:

  • To worship
  • To be musically prepared for all masses.
  • TO HAVE FUN!!
  • To be musically prepared for Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter.
  • To be musically prepared for spcial performance events throughout the year.

Our program is best summed up by Ruth Krehbiel Jacobs, founder of the National Choristers Guild:

“ Training the worship attitude of our children is like tending a rare plant. The seed must first be planted and the soul kept in a condition that encourages growth. Once the seed has been planted, it requires patient care until it reaches full flower. When it does put forth a bud, fragrant with the richness of the true worship, we may be humbly grateful for the privilege of having been the gardeners.”

SPECIAL EVENTS:

  • Although singing for the liturgy is primary, as the Children’s Choir  Program grows and as the choristers become more  experienced, concerts and other special events will be added

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT:

Parents are a vital part of the Children’s Choir Program. You are always welcome to observe rehearsals, but parents with small children are asked to watch on and listen from the common area if silence cannot be maintained during the rehearsal. To much noise will disrupt focus and concentration. Thank you for your cooperation in this.

At various times throughout the year, helping hands are needed for special projects and concerts.
We would love your help. Please let us know that you would be available!
